Local business special: the first three local businesses get a Starter site for $500.

Facebook + Google

Facebook pages and Google profiles for local trades

Before someone calls you, there's a good chance they look you up on Google or Facebook first. I set both up so they look like the same business, show your real work, and make it easy to call you.

Facebook page setup is $150 one time. Keeping your Google profile current is part of my care plan, $149 a month, which covers your website too. You keep ownership of both; I'm only added as a helper.

Facebook page setup, $150 one time

For a page that's been running for years without anyone tidying it up, or one you just started. I set up:

  • Cover photo and profile picture, sized so nothing important gets cut off on a phone.
  • Page details: what you do, the towns you serve, hours, phone number and website.
  • Buttons, so the main one does what you want people to do: call you, message you, or ask for an estimate.
  • Photo albums, with your jobs sorted so people can find the kind of work they're after.
  • A pinned post at the top of your page that says who you are and how to reach you.
  • Messenger: an instant reply, an away message for when you're on a job, and answers to the questions people ask most.

Everything goes up with wording you've approved first.

What a finished cover looks like

This is the cover and profile picture I made for my own business. Yours would use your logo, your colors and your best job photos.

Google Business Profile, $149 a month with website care

Your Google profile is what shows up on Google Maps and in the map results when someone nearby searches for your trade. Google says those results are based mainly on relevance, distance and how well known your business is; it also says that replying to reviews shows customers you value their feedback, and that missing or wrong details can keep you out of nearby searches. (Google Business Profile Help)

In the first month, I set the profile up properly: your website, services, the towns you serve, hours and categories.

Every month after that:

  • A job photo and a short post every week, from the work you've just finished.
  • Review replies, drafted by me and sent to you first; they go up once you've OK'd the wording.
  • Hours and services kept current, including holidays.
  • Your website looked after: hosting, updates, new photos and a check that your estimate form works.

An example: Howe Renovations

I set up Howe Renovations' Google profile and keep it current. New job photos go on it as Mike finishes work, and when he posts new photos on his Facebook page, I add them to the gallery on his website too, so all three stay in step.

How access works

You own your Facebook page and your Google profile, and you keep owning them. Facebook and Google both let you add me as a helper (an editor on Facebook, a manager on Google), so I never need your password, and you can remove me any time.

What I can't promise

I can't promise a set number of calls or a spot at the top of the map; Google and Facebook decide that, and they change their rules. What I can do is make sure everything they look at about your business is complete, current and accurate.

Common questions

Do I need both a Facebook page and a Google profile?

If you only do one, do Google; it's what shows up when someone nearby searches for your trade. Facebook matters most for people who already know your name and want to see your work.

Can I get just the Facebook setup?

Yes. It's $150 one time, and there's nothing monthly after it.

Do you need my password?

No. You add me as an editor on your Facebook page and a manager on your Google profile, and you can remove me any time.

Can you make videos for my Facebook page too?

Yes. I turn the clips on your phone into short before-and-after videos, up to 4 a month for $300.
